Marco Bezzecchi and the Aprilia Racing squad returned to the top step of the podium at the British Grand Prix.
For the first time since the 2023 Indian Grand Prix, Marco Bezzecchi returned to the top step of a Grand Prix podium at the 2025 British Grand Prix.
The Italian rider was able to win at Silverstone by over four seconds on the Aprilia RS-GP. After joining the Italian manufacturer at the start of the season this year has been difficult for Bezzecchi.
The 26-year-old has not finished inside the top five as an Aprilia rider, and in the last two Grand Prix, he has finished in 14th place. But after starting from tenth at the British Grand Prix, he was able to turn his fortunes around.
Aprilia have struggled as a manufacturer throughout the season, as the Italian manufacturer were last in the Constructors Standings heading into the British Grand Prix.
"It is amazing, it has been a really tough time for me," Bezzecchi said after winning the British Grand Prix.
"I started a new adventure, Aprilia trusted in me, and we have worked really hard. Of course, we have been through some tough periods in the past races, but we never gave up.
"The team did a wonderful job, so did the whole factory in Noale. I want to say thanks to them. But also I want to say thanks to my family, and all my real friends who have stayed close to me through these tough moments.
"I have been waiting for a day like this since my last win, so it feels amazing, I am very happy."
Bezzecchi's win for Aprilia came at a good time as it coincides with rumours from the Noale factory that their number one rider, Jorge Martin, is looking to exit the Italian manufacturer at the end of the first year of his two-year deal.
