After retiring from the Italian Grand Prix, Jack Miller hopes to be competitive at the TT Circuit Assen this weekend.
Jack Miller and the Prima Pramac Yamaha Racing team had a difficult Italian Grand Prix, as mechanical issues forced them to retire from the race.
However, after a few days off the bike, the Australian rider will be arriving at a circuit where he has fond memories.
It is well known that Miller took his first MotoGP race win at the TT Circuit Assen in a dramatic 2016 Dutch TT when he rode for the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS squad.
Other than his race win at the circuit in 2016, his next best result in the Netherlands came in 2017 and 2022 when he finished in sixth place for the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS squad, and the Ducati Lenovo Team.
"Mugello was definitely a tough weekend for us," Miller said.
"These few days off helped me reset and refocus for Assen. Every time I get on the bike, I want to give my absolute best, and I can‘t wait to jump back on my Yamaha at a track where I believe we can be competitive.
"I love riding at Assen — its fast corners and flowing nature really suit my style, and of course, it‘s extra special for me as the place where I won my first MotoGP race."
After nine of the 22 MotoGP rounds, Miller sits 19th in the MotoGP World Championship with 31 points and a best Grand Prix result of fifth place at the Grand Prix of the Americas.
