Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi believes that reigning MotoGP World Champion and runaway series leader Marc Marquez can be beaten but it will take more than 100 per cent effort as the package is so good.

It took only one error from The Doctor at Le Mans for the Repsol Honda man to pass and put half a second into Rossi immediately before he then disappeared but it would seem The Doctor is as interested in the fight as the win.

“I am in a situation in which, for sure I want to win, but it is not a big problem for me. I come from a situation last year and especially two and three years ago when my results were a lot worse, so I am so happy about my work,” said Rossi.

"Marquez is clearly first class. I already understood that already last year and I said, ‘I needed to have been fighting with him when I was 22!’ Anyway, it is good motivation because the level is so high and if you want to beat him you have to give it more than 100 per cent.”
