Aprilia’s MotoGP test rider Max Biaggi crashed on the first day of testing at Portimao as he shared the track with his World Superbike stablemates.
The former world champion, who is sharing test duties with Michael Laverty, was riding an stock-looking RSV4 equipped with new electronics strategies which will be sent out to Laverty at Sepang.
He was back on the bike today but poor weather and a bruised shoulder slowed his work rate.
“We really did not have a lot of time, especially when you consider the fact that the crash yesterday limited me a bit today. We’re still not at optimum performance levels, but we have already started working on a few details,” said Biaggi.
“I’m picking the automatism back up. It’s always great to get back on the track, but I have to get used to it again. I need to lap, so I hope we have nice weather in Jerez to do a good job.”
