Britain’s Leon Camier says he is fully aware of the challenge facing him as he makes his MotoGP debut at Indianapolis this weekend as a substitute rider for the incapacitated Nicky Hayden.
The former British Superbike Champion is going to a track he has never seen before to race a bike he has never ridden before and on top of that has to contend with Bridgestone tyres and carbon brakes.
“I’m fully aware of what is facing me. I’ve never ridden at the track and so much of the bike is going to be new, especially the carbon brakes and the Bridgestones, but it is what it is and I will go there and just do the best I can,” said Camier, speaking to bikesportnews.com this lunchtime while rushing around like a blue-arsed fly.
“It’s a big challenge, for sure, especially to go there and be fast but we will have a good go. It's about as in at the deep end as you can get!"
