Crutchlow undergoes double surgery

Ducati’s Cal Cruchlow has undergone double surgery in America following his Austin MotoGP accident.

During checks at a specialised clinic in San Diego, it was revealed that Crutchow had also fractured his disclocated finger in the fall which hadn’t been visible in the trackside X-ray.

“A micro-fracture was diagnosed in Cal’s dislocated right little finger so a stabilizing pin was put in. This fracture was not visible in the first x-ray at CoTA circuit medical centre, which is why the diagnosis was only dislocated finger,” said Ducati spokesman Julian Thomas.

“Cal also took advantage of the visit - which had been scheduled anyway - to have his right forearm opened up to remove some fluid retention, since he has been suffering from arm=pump following his crashes at Silverstone last year. The prognosis doesn’t change, and Cal will be in Argentina for the race.”
