Davide Brivio back MotoGP after F1 exit, joins Trackhouse Racing in coup signing

Davide Brivio is to make a return to the MotoGP World Championship for 2024 after agreeing a surprise deal with Trackhouse Racing Aprilia to assume its team principal position.

Considered one of motorcycle racing's most revered and respected figures, Brivio is also one of its most decorated with six MotoGP World Championship riders' titles under his steer; five with Yamaha (2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010) and one with Suzuki (2020).

It was in the wake of the latter that Brivio would bid farewell to the MotoGP paddock in favour of a new position in Formula 1 as part of the Alpine F1 Team's management structure.

However, after parting ways with Alpine in 2023, Brivio had signalled a desire to get back to working in MotoGP, a wish that will be fulfilled thanks to the ambitious new Trackhouse Racing project. The American outfit makes its MotoGP debut in 2024 after replacing RNF Racing as Aprilia's satellite partner.

“It all happened very quickly in the last days with Justin asking me to help Trackhouse in the MotoGP challenge.," Brivio, who will take the position of Team Principal with immediate effect, said

"It’s so exciting to be a part of this new project since the beginning and I’m really looking forward to get to know Trackhouse more and see what we can bring in MotoGP from the successful vision and experience that this company has in other sports and environments.

"It could be a great combination of the two worlds. Now, it’s just one more test to go, almost time to go racing and we will try to support as much as we can our two talented riders Miguel and Raul and have fun.

"In the last few days everything has happened very quickly and before I could not say where I was going but hey, it’s great news and we will start working quickly!”

While the majority of the RNF pit crew and engineers are carried over from RNF Racing, the management structure at Trackhouse Racing is all-new. With this in mind, Brivio's arrival will be seen as a coup for the start-up team and sure signal of intent from its owners.

"It’s incredible to have someone of Davide’s caliber and experience leading the Trackhouse Racing MotoGP Team," commented Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks.

"All of us at the company are humbled by the commitment he has made. It became apparent the moment
