Davide Tardozzi has revealed that Ducati are hoping to have Marc Marquez back at the Valencia Grand Prix.
During the opening day of the Australian Grand Prix, Ducati Team Manager, Davide Tardozzi, revealed the Italian manufacturer is 'hoping' to have Marc Marquez back for the MotoGP season finale.
The 2025 MotoGP World Champion finds himself on the sidelines after suffering injuries to his right shoulder in a collision with Marco Bezzecchi on the opening lap of the Indonesian Grand Prix.
Marquez was originally not going to undergo surgery, but ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, it was revealed that he had undergone a successful operation to stabilise the injuries he sustained in Mandalika.
It has already been announced that Marquez will miss this weekend's Australian Grand Prix and next weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix, but no further recovery timeline has been revealed by Ducati.
Tardozzi and Ducati are hopeful to have Marquez back for the Valencia Grand Prix at the end of the season, but will not 'rush' him back due to his previous injury history.
"The injury is quite bad," Tardozzi told TNT Sports on Friday.
"It doesn’t allow him to be in the next two races, so we will see what it’s going to be for the last one.
"I think we are hoping that he will be back for Valencia, but so far we have to wait [to see] what will be [shown in] the new scan and what the doctors will say to him in two weeks.
"We cross our fingers to have him in the last race of the season and have him in the Valencia test. But, again, we have to wait to see what the doctors say.
"We don’t want to be in a rush. He suffered a lot in the past by coming back too early, too soon, to race.
"So, we want to take the time that is necessary to heal from the surgery he had last week."
