Enea Bastianini will challenge teammate, Francesco Bagnaia, for the MotoGP World Championship.
After doing the double at Silverstone and claiming another podium in Austria, Enea Bastianini is building a Championship challenge.
With Bastianini on his way out of Ducati at the end of the 2024 season, there is no incentive to help his teammate, Francesco Bagnaia, win the title. After his third place at the Red Bull Ring Bastiainini was very honest in stating that he would fight for the Championship.
The next track that MotoGP will visit is Aragon, a circuit that Bastianini has historically performed well at. The Italian has beaten Bagnaia in a dual there before back in 2022 and wants to do the same in 2024.
"Pecco is always fast at all the tracks and it will not be simple to fight with him from here to the end of the Championship, but I am here to try and do it. But we have to work hard to do it," Bastianini stated after the Austrian Grand Prix.
"I hope to be close to these guys and fighting for the victory in the next one. Aragon is one of my favourite tracks and it will be important to fight with him for the Championship."
Bastianini finished fourth in the Sprint Race and third in the main race in Austria. These are results that he is 'satisfied' with after a difficult weekend.
"This weekend for me was not so simple," Bastiainini stated. "But today for the race I think we made a big step. It was not possible to stay with Pecco (Bagnaia) but we ran a good pace to get here on the podium. I am satisfied, but my feeling throughout the weekend was not very good.
"The guys worked a lot to give me the best bike possible but in the end, it was too tricky. Also, I have suffered with the front tyre, it was too soft for me. I tried the hardest one and on the left side, it was a bit tricky for me."
