According to Fabio Quartararo, unexpected chatter from the rear caused his crash during the Aragon Grand Prix.
The Aragon Grand Prix was a difficult weekend for Fabio Quartararo from the first Practice session until the Grand Prix on Sunday.
He had been dealing with chatter from the rear throughout the Grand Prix weekend and has since blamed the chatter for his crash in the Grand Prix on Sunday.
The 2021 MotoGP World Champion explained that his 11th-place finish in the Sprint Race was due to chatter from the soft tyre. However, he expected his issues to be resolved on Sunday when he used to medium rear tyre.
But the Frenchman encountered the chatter issues with the medium rear tyre, which he 'never expected'.
"Same as yesterday. Chatter on the rear. Locking on the front, no grip," Quartararo explained after crashing out of the Aragon Grand Prix.
"The grip was improving lap by lap, but just the chatter was really, really bad, and I could not ride. And pushing a little bit more, we just lost the front.
"It’s quite strange, because if we do short runs, of four laps, it’s quite ok.
"But after five, six laps, the bike started to have a lot of chatter, step by step, more and more.
"It’s [coming] from something else, we don’t really know why.
"With the soft it happens sometimes, and with the medium we never expect to have it during the race, and today it happened.
"So, it’s really strange. It never really happens two times in a row. We have to understand why. It’s a really strange situation."
This DNF has seen Quartararo slip back from eighth in the 2025 MotoGP World Championship to tenth place. After scoring no points throughout the weekend, the Frenchman has lost out to Pedro Acosta and Fermin Aldeguer in the standings.
