MotoGP rookie, Fermin Aldeguer, has undergone two surgeries following the Aragon Grand Prix and Aragon MotoGP Test.
Following on from the Aragon Grand Prix and the Aragon Test, Fermin Aldeguer has undergone two surgeries ahead of the Italian Grand Prix.
The BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider went to Barcelona to undergo arm pump surgery on his right arm and has had a pin removed from his left hand, which was inserted at the end of the 2024 season to stabilise an injury to his fifth metacarpal suffered at the Thai Grand Prix.
These operations took place in Barcelona and were performed by Dr. Xavier Mir at the Dexeus clinic. Both operations were a success, and Aldeguer is now on the road to recovery.
It is not expected that Aldeguer will miss Gresini Racing's first home round of the season at the Italian Grand Prix at the Mugello Circuit.
Fermin Aldeguer's rookie MotoGP season:
After eight Grand Prix weekends in his rookie MotoGP season, Fermin Aldeguer sits ninth in the MotoGP World Championship and is on the path to become the Rookie of the Year.
The BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider had a difficult start to the year as he scored three points in the opening three rounds in Thailand, Argentina, and America.
In the following five rounds of the 2025 season, Aldeguer has stood on three podiums, two Sprint podiums at Le Mans and Aragon and a Grand Prix podium at Le Mans.
The Ducati rider has scored 70 points in the last five rounds and has put the doubts of his early promotion from Moto2 to MotoGP to rest with his recent race performances.
