First job at Sepang is electronics, says Redding

Britain's Scott Redding has identified that getting the electronic package right on the new RC1000V MotoGP bike will be his first priority at Sepang but says he doesn't want to run before he can walk.

Although the youngster made his debut for the Go&Fun Gresini team at Valencia, he was riding with a broken wrist so wasn't able to fully evaluate the Honda Production Racer package. But he hasn't ruled out being faster than some of the Factory entires this year.

"I don’t have the experience and I don’t know tyres, and also I don’t know what difference the fuel is making; the electronic we have is not so good. I don’t want to run before starting to walk: if I can take some guys on a proper MotoGP bike, then I’ll take them, but my main target is to be the first Open class rider, even though in my head is always possible to make something special," said Redding.

"I think that we need to wait the first test to see if there’s a big difference between the two configurations, also because I think that we won’t use so much the softer tyre with this bike for a race, because we will use the tyres like a Factory MotoGP bike anyway. I think that the biggest thing is to work with the electronics."
