Francesco Bagnaia reacts to his first pole position of the season

Gold & Goose

For the first time this season, Francesco Bagnaia will start from pole position after setting the pace in Qualifying at Automotodrom Brno.

At Round 12 of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship, Francesco Bagnaia claimed an unexpected first pole position of the season.

The Italian rider was able to make his way through the Qualifying One session and benefited from the extra 15 minutes of track time in Qualifying Two.

Ahead of the Sprint Race at the Automotodrom Brno, Bagnaia knows that the conditions at the circuit will be tricky as he has experienced front tyre degradation throughout the weekend.

"I think the Q1 session helped me a bit," Bagnaia told TNT Sports.

"I understood a bit better how to push with those tyres, and I am very happy. The team deserves these results, and so do I, so I am very happy.

"This afternoon, I think it will be quite tricky with the conditions. The front tyre drops quite a lot, so it will be important to understand and choose the correct tyres for the race.

"But right now I am quite happy."

Bagnaia believes that the medium front tyre will be the correct choice for the Sprint Race as the soft front tyre drops off at a quick rate around the circuit.

"I will try to do another step in the same direction that I did in Qualifying," he explained.

"We will see for the Sprint, I think, apart from Yamaha and the riders at the test, nobody really knows how the tyres drop.

"I have done laps with the soft and that was dropping a lot, maybe it will be a good choice to go with the medium, so let's see."
