Britain's Gino Rea has topped the Moto2 timesheets on the final day of testing at Valencia and was only matched by the more experinced Claudio Corti with Scott Redding a further four-tenths in arrears.
Londoner Rea was riding the Moriwaki-chassied Gresini bike me may well race next season while Corti was aboard the Italtrans Kalex. Both put in unnofficial laps of 1'36.4 while Redding went round on his MarcVDS Kalex in 1'36.8.
Redding's team-mate Mika Kallio was a further three-tenths slower in fourth with Speed Up's Andrea Iannone in fifth. Takaaki Nakagami was sixth, the returning Toni Elias put his Aspar Suter in seventh ahead of Johann Zarco on the JiR. Reigning 125 champion Nico Terol was ninth and Roberto Locatelli (yes, really) was tenth on the third Italtrans.
However, Pol Espargaro set the quickest time of the whole test, doing a 1'36 flat on his Kalex Pons on Wednesday and he was only two tenths faster than team-mate Esteve Rabat with Redding putting in the third quickest time of 1'36.2. Yesterday and parts of today were lost to wet weather.
