Hayden hopeful of second Sepang test after successful surgery

Marlboro Ducati's Nicky Hayden is hopeful he should be able to take part in the second MotoGP test at Sepang at the end of this month after he underwent successful shoulder surgery.

The 2006 world champion had torn the labrum on his right shoulder which is a lip of cartilage in the humerus/scapula socket. Dr Ting performed a successful 40-minute operation to repair it and Hayden is now at home recuperating.

“It’s a setback, but all things considered, I’m pretty happy with how things went. It’s good that it was possible to do everything by ’scope, and the pain’s not too bad. The problem should be fixed now, and I look forward to being able to help out the team as soon as possible," said the Kentuckian.
