Herve Poncharal denies reports that he has sold Tech3

Gold & Goose

Recent news reports suggested that Herve Poncharal sold Tech3, but he has called these reports 'fake news'.

Across the weekend, news reports spread that Herve Poncharal had sold his Tech3 MotoGP team to an investor group that is led by former Formula One team principal, Gunther Steiner.

The reports had suggested that the price of the sale was €20 million. However, the Frenchman has responded to the rumours before heading away for his summer break.

"This is absolute fake news," Poncharal told GPOne.

"We are talking, as you know. But nothing was signed! I've never made a secret of the fact that discussions are taking place.

"But I am very annoyed by these new rumours and speculations. I don't want to go into that in detail because there is no news to report."

Despite denying the recent reports that he has sold his Tech3 team, he did not deny that in the future he would like 'more time' with his family.

"I expect that with Liberty, a lot will change in MotoGP and the value of a team will increase. But growth is limited," he added to GPOne.

"I'm not old, but at the same time, I'm no longer young. If I have more time for my family, my daughter, and my friends in the foreseeable future, as well as more opportunities for my hobbies like mountain biking, I'll be happy.

"I'm a normal person, I've always remainder realistic. I never started dreaming and never thought that financial opportunities would skyrocket. Everyone who knows me understands, I'm not a megalomaniac.

"I've always kept my feet on the ground, that won't change."
