'I have been waiting for this moment my whole life' - Jose Antonio Rueda wins the 2025 Moto3 title

Gold & Goose

Jose Antonio Rueda will arrive in the Moto2 World Championship as the reigning Moto3 World Champion.

At the Indonesian Grand Prix, the Moto3 World Championship was decided as Jose Antonio Rueda claimed victory and his first title in the Grand Prix paddock.

The Spaniard put together a consistent 2025 campaign, as he only failed to finish a race on his way to securing the title. During the 18 races before he won the title, Rueda claimed victory nine times and featured on four further podiums.

After two underwhelming years in 2023 and 2024, many doubted the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider, but in his third season, the 19-year-old was finally crowned Champion.

"Today was an amazing day for us, I have dreamt of this moment everyday since I was six years old," Rueda told the media after being crowned the Moto3 World Champion.

"It was an incredible day, I want to enjoy this with everybody who has supported me, and believed in me at the beginning. Today, we took the title and became World Champion, the first Andalucian rider to do so.

"Everything in life is possible, you just have to keep going, believe in yourself, and don't give up. I have been waiting for this moment all my life."

There are still four rounds left of the 2025 Moto3 World Championship, and more chances for Rueda to add further wins to his tally.

However, he admitted after winning the title that he had imagined himself winning the title at Motegi or Mandalika at the start of the 2025 campaign.

"At the start of the year, I had visualised winning the title in Japan or Indonesia; today, I took the title in Indonesia," he explained.

"At the beginning of the year, I kept my way in all of the races. I kept going, kept fighting, and in the end, we made it."
