Fabio Quartararo is not confident in Yamaha's new V4 engine for the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.
After finishing outside of the top ten in the MotoGP World Championship in 2024, Fabio Quartararo was back in the top ten in 2025.
However, it was not a satisfactory season for the Frenchman as he ended the year ninth in the Championship, and featured only on a Grand Prix podium and two Sprint Race podiums.
Compared to his previous years in the MotoGP World Championship, Quartararo has stated that 'there is nothing to remember from this season'.
"It has been a difficult season. I showed myself that I am fast; this is the most important thing," Quartararo said to TNT Sports after the final round of 2025.
"The results, we know how difficult it has been to make it work with our bike. But there is nothing to really remember from this season."
It has been confirmed by Yamaha that they will switch from their inline-four engine to their new V4 engine for the 2026 season. However, Quartararo is unsure whether the Japanese manufacturer will have a competitive bike next year.
Quartararo stated, "We will see, because right now we can see the performance is still low. But Yamaha is working hard, so we will have to see how it will be for the 2026 season."
The 2026 MotoGP season is the final season of Fabio Quartararo's deal with Yamaha. When asked whether he will give Yamaha time to progress with their V4, he confirmed that he will look to 'make a change' if Yamaha is not competitive.
"Like I said, I have no time," he explained.
"It will be important, and we will also have a clear idea after this test. But I just want to make it work, and if we cannot then it will be time to make a change."
