Marc Marquez has either been dominant in Argentina, or he has crashed from the front. How does he see this weekend going?
Marc Marquez arrives at the Argentine Grand Prix as the MotoGP World Championship leader after dominating the opening round of the season.
In the past, Marquez has had a great level of success in Argentina as he has won here on three occasions. However, he has also failed to finish the race on two occasions after crashing from top positions.
This is something that Marquez referenced during the MotoGP Press Conference ahead of this weekend's track action.
"We will understand during the weekend," Marquez explained when he was asked if he could do the double again.
"We started in the best way possible in Thailand, with a double victory which was super important. Then I was at home, people talk a lot but we need to keep our feet on the ground and work in the same way as Thailand.
"I know here in Argentina, most of the years I have ridden in a good way, but I have also made some mistakes. Let's see if we can start in a good way in FP1 because then it will be easier throughout the weekend."
What challenges do riders face at Termas de Rio Hondo?
Termas de Rio Hondo has always been a strange circuit on the MotoGP calendar. The circuit does not get used often and develops a layer of dust during the offseason.
This is something that the riders have to contend with, but it also means the riders get faster throughout the weekend as the track gets 'rubbered in'.
"One of the main characteristics of this GP is that the track changes during the race," Marquez stated.
"Because of this you need to adapt and change your riding style, and you need to adapt your setup. The bike balance with the Ducati is amazing, I like it and it is working in every condition.
"It works in slippery conditions, it is working when the grip is super good, but with my riding style when there is low grip I prefer it."
Marquez back on top of the world:
For the first time in 93 Grands Prix, Marquez is the MotoGP World Championship leader. The eight-time Champion had not led the standings since 2019, he was asked how it feels now he has had two weeks to reflect on the Thai Grand Prix.
"It feels good," Marquez said. "I feel relaxed, comfortable, I feel good with the team, which is super important. Not only with the bike but within the team, the communication is flowing in a good way.
"I feel relaxed, I feel good, there are still 21 Rounds to go so we need to keep going."
