Despite not scoring points at the Dutch TT, Aleix Espargaro gathered useful data to use with the HRC Test Team.

Aleix Espargaro completed his first weekend in the factory Honda HRC Castrol garage as he filled in for the recovering Luca Marini.

The Spaniard has been working with HRC as a test and development rider throughout the 2025 MotoGP season. Espargaro has made wildcard appearances at the Spanish and British Grand Prix with the test team, but got to experience the official Honda RC213V at Assen.

During his weekend at the Dutch TT, it looked like Espargaro would be able to score points, but throughout the races, he began experiencing vibrations from his Honda.

Espargaro finished in 18th place in the Sprint Race and 16th in the Grand Prix and has gathered plenty of data to take back to the test team.

"For me it was a much more complicated race than I thought it would be in all honesty," Espargaro said.

"We had a lot of vibrations throughout the whole race, and I was running wide a lot, and I had to focus on finishing the race.

"I know that I can do more, you can see that Mir and Zarco are able to accomplish some good results. We need to work on improving this vibration so that the other riders can focus on going as fast as possible.

"It’s good to have this weekend under our belt, some good information to take back to my job as a tester."

Honda did not have a great weekend at the Dutch TT with Johann Zarco as the top rider from the Japanese manufacturer in the Sprint Race and the Grand Prix.

The French rider finished in 11th place in the Sprint on Saturday and 12th place in the Grand Prix on Sunday.
