Jack Miller has admitted that he will not be able to race with Yamaha's new V4 engine at any point this season.
This weekend at the San Marino Grand Prix, Yamaha will debut their highly anticipated V4 MotoGP engine with their test rider, Augusto Fernandez.
It will be the first chance for the Japanese manufacturer to get a look at their new engine across a race weekend rather than at a controlled test day.
Prima Pramac Racing Yamaha rider, Jack Miller, has high hopes for Fernandez and believes it is 'exciting for the future of the project'.
"It is really, really, really exciting, especially for the future of the project," Miller told MotoGP.com.
"It is a really crucial weekend for us, where it is the first one, hopefully the first one of many. Hopefully, Augusto [Fernandez] can have a problem-free weekend.
"With a new project, especially when it is so brand new, things are so different across a race weekend compared to a test day. Everything is scrutinised, everything is on time, and you have to react quickly throughout the sessions.
"I am looking forward to seeing how the weekend plays out for them. I have my fingers crossed for them."
The Australian rider was asked if he would be able to use the new V4 engine during the remainder of the 2025 season at race weekends.
Miller quickly struck down any possibility of him racing with the new engine, as it 'does not work' due to homologation.
"No, it is not possible," he admitted.
"Not for a lack of trying, but we have homologated two fairings already, other pieces as well in terms of spec, it does not work. So, as much as I would love to gain data on it, it is just not possible."
