Jack Miller takes a clear stance against Aprilia's proposed rule change

Aprilia's proposed rule change has not gone down well with Prima Pramac's Jack Miller.

Jack Miller has now weighed in with his opinion on Aprilia's proposed rule change regarding private tests for injured riders.

Aprilia CEO, Massimo Rivola, wants private tests to be allowed for injured riders before they return to MotoGP action.

This new proposal comes during an injury crisis for the Italian manufacturer as Jorge Martin has missed the Thai and Argentine Grand Prix through injury.

Aprilia's proposal has been supported by every manufacturer other than Ducati, with Davide Tardozzi and Marc Marquez speaking publically against the rule change.

Despite Yamaha supposedly supporting the change, Prima Pramac Yamaha Factory rider Jack Miller has now also taken a clear stance against the proposal.

"This is MotoGP and the rules have been like that for a long time," Miller toldĀ Motorsport.

"If we go back to when Valentino Rossi broke his leg and so on. Also mean Marc Marquez, for example, who missed almost an entire season.

"They were only able to do the test they were given. It's the way it works.

"The rules are the rules, it's unfortunate for [Martin and Aprilia], but those are the cards they have been dealt this year."

When will Jorge Martin return from injury?

After winning the 2024 MotoGP World Championship with Pramac and Ducati Martin decided to switch to Aprilia Racing for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

However, during pre-season testing, the reigning Champion suffered fractures to his wrist and foot. Whilst preparing to return to racing Martin crashed again and fractured his other wrist and ruled himself out of the opening two race weekends of the year.

It has been confirmed that Martin will also miss the third round of the season at the Circuit of the Americas.

However, he is hoping to make his highly anticipated return in Qatar for Round Four of the 2025 season.
