Italian Claudio Corti stormed to the top of the Jerez Moto2 test timesheets on the final day, deposing yesterday's fastest man Thomas Luthi by 0.004s with a lap of 1'41.983, making them the only two riders to break the 1'42s barrier over the three days.

Pons Racing's Pol Espargaro was third fastest with the MarcVDS of Mika Kallio in fourth. The Finn's team-mate Scott Redding, who was in the top five yesterday, slipped down to tenth quickest and was the lead British rider on a 1'42.794 with Bradley Smith in 14th and Gino Rea in 25th, 1.6s off the pace. Both slipped off unhurt but Smith's crash brought out the red flag.

Marc Marquez, championship runner up in 2011, has shaken off any lingering vision problems, bagging fifth place with Andrea Iannone jumping up to sixth. Julian Simon and Alex De Angelis, along with Redding, completed the top ten.
