Scotland’s John McPhee has outpaced fellow Brit Danny Kent on the final day of Moto3 testing in Spain, leading the factory Husqvarna-badged KTM rider by less than a tenth of the second on his privateer Honda.
McPhee ended the three days in sixth place, one behind team-mate Efren Vasquez, with a 1’46.439 while Kent’s best was a 1’46.547 - both times set in the middle session today as the majority of riders concentrated on race runs in the final period.
"It hasn't been a bad test, because we improved on the last visit here. My times are inside the Top 10, which is difficult as I think many riders were faster than the pole time. The main thing is that we have found a good base setup and are ready for Qatar. We're feeling confident, as some other riders have just set faster one-off laps whilst we have found a good pace. We're ready for Qatar," said Kent.
Jack Miller, on the facrory KTM, finished the test in top spot on a 1’46.259, only two-tenths faster than McPhee while Alex Marquez, on a Honda, and Karel Hanika - a former Red Bull rookie - was third.
