Red Bull KTM Ajo have reportedly promoted Jose Antonio Rueda into their Moto2 squad for the 2026 season.

After three years in the Moto3 World Championship, Jose Antonio Rueda appears set to move up to the Moto2 World Championship next season.

The Spaniard has been competing for the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad since he entered the Moto3 Championship on a full-time basis in 2023.

After two seasons of sporadic top-end results, including a race win and four further podiums, Rueda had a breakthrough in 2025 and has cemented himself as the favourite for the Championship.

Throughout the first half-season in 2025, Rueda has claimed victory in seven of the 12 Moto3 races and has featured on two further podiums.

Rueda is also leading the Moto3 World Championship and has an advantage of 85 points heading into the second half of the season.

After dominating the first half of the 2025 season, Rueda has reportedly earned a promotion to the Moto2 World Championship next season.

According to Sky Sports Italia, the 19-year-old and Red Bull KTM Ajo have reportedly agreed on a deal to see Rueda remain in the AJO Motorsport squad and move into their Moto2 team.

Before he makes the step up into the middleweight class, Rueda has ten more Grand Prix weekends in Moto3, in which time he will be aiming to secure the Moto3 Championship.

It is unknown who Rueda will replace in the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 squad, but earlier rumours in the year had suggested that Deniz Oncu could move away from the Finnish team at the end of the season.
