Britain’s Danny Kent has taken his first steps on the Tech3 Mistral Moto2 bike he will campaign next season when he takes over from the promoted Bradley Smith.
Kent went out for his first laps on Monday at Valencia in brilliant sunshine after a dismal weekend, weatherwise, and said he had never ridden a bike bigger than 450 Supermoto previously.
"It’s the first time on a 600, in fact, the biggest bike I had ridden before was 450 Supermoto, which is nothing compared to these. Every time I went out on the bike I felt more at home. It was a little more difficult on the body. The bike is a lot heavier. It is a good job we have got a three-day test before winter, we can go back, I can get my strength up and get ready," said Kent, speaking to bikesportnews.com
"I will do some more weights as I am four or five kilos under the weight limit and I want to put on muscle not fat. I will be working with James Toseland over the winter too."
