Factory Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo has topped the Catalunya MotoGP test timesheets today, lapping in 1'41.908 but he was pushed hard by Nicky Hayden who was less than a tenth slower than the Spaniard.

And it was good news for Suzuki who gave their GSV-R1000 its first public airing as Randy De Puniet was only three-quarters of a second off the pace, going round in 1'42.676 and lapping quicker than Andrea Iannone and Bradley Smith.

Lorenzo was slower than his pole time from Saturday at the Spanish track was Hayden and pretty much everyone else. It is not clear yet what new parts were being evaluated but that will unravel this evening.

Suzuki bosses have said they will not enter MotoGP until 2015. This is to further develop the bike but may also be to take advantage of changes to incentives Dorna are reported to be bringing in over the next two years.
