Marc Marquez believes Ducati 'will choose a good direction' despite his absence from the Valencia Test

Gold & Goose

Marc Marquez is confident that Alex Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia will 'choose a good direction' at the Valencia Test.

Across the weekend, Marc Marquez was back in the MotoGP paddock for the first time since his injury at the Indonesian Grand Prix.

The 2025 MotoGP World Champion was not allowed to race and will not test on Tuesday at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. However, Marquez is now able to celebrate his 2025 MotoGP World Championship after wrapping up the title in Japan.

"I am happy to be here as a spectator, but it is like a jail, I want to be out there," Marquez told TNT Sports.

"The injury did not arrive at the best moment, as it was time to celebrate. I was very disappointed, but we must accept that maybe it arrived at the best time because the Championship was closed.

"I have received many good messages and videos, but now it is time to try and enjoy this GP here in Valencia, and celebrate my 2025 World Championship."

When discussing his latest injury, the Spaniard revealed that it did not impact the previous injuries he has suffered to his right arm across his MotoGP career.

"The most important thing is that this new injury did not affect the other injuries in my right arm," he explained.

"It is now a matter of time; the bone is getting better and better. But the ligaments will take a little bit more time. I think in three or four weeks I will start my rehabilitation.

"I have started it already, but I will continue in a stronger way."

'I believe in them, they are very good riders...'

Ducati have struggled in the 2025 season, with a step back with the Ducati GP25. With Marquez out of the Valencia Test, there have been question marks surrounding the development of the GP26.

However, Marquez is confident that Francesco Bagnaia and Alex Marquez will do a good job during the one-day test to end the season.

"During the season me, Alex [Marquez], and Pecco [Bagnaia] had the same comments," he revealed.

"It is true that Pecco has had some difficulties, but I believe in them, they are very good riders, and they will choose a good direction.

"I will try the things at the Malaysia Test, if everything is going well I will be there. So, from that point we will start our pre-season."
