Marc Marquez had 'a typical crash' after completing 'everything he had planned'

Gold & Goose

The Ducati Lenovo Team rider ended the second day of the Sepang Test with a 'typical crash'.

At the end of the second day of the Sepang Test, you had to look down the order to find Marc Marquez. The eight-time World Champion ended his day in 14th place, nowhere near his second place on day one.

However, Marquez did end his day in the gravel trap during his time attack. The Spaniard crashed on the entry to turn nine after putting in new tyres.

“I had a typical crash on that turn nine that is the slowest corner on the circuit,” Marquez said on MotoGP.com’s After the Flag show.

“I put a new tyre to do a time attack, but unluckily I crashed at turn nine.”

Despite the crash, Marquez was able to complete his testing program during the day. The #93 completed 46 laps throughout the day and set a best lap time of 1:58.447.

“But we did all the jobs today, everything we had on the plan,” Marquez explained.

“I was very careful all day because we have a specific job to do, that is trying to find the direction for 2025, especially about the engine and aero, and Ducati want to be very precise on that, and at the same time conservative because they want to choose the correct decision.

“We tested a lot of things today. I think we already understand what is the way, but tomorrow we need to reconfirm.”

The 31-year-old went on to reveal that he had not been feeling well during the Sepang Test. But he does not know if he is ill or just tired from travelling to Malaysia.

“Today I don’t feel good,” he said on Thursday.

“I don’t know if I’m getting sick or if I don’t sleep very well. So, tomorrow we will see, because I only sleep five hours with the jet lag last night, so let’s see tomorrow if it’s because I’m sick or because I don’t sleep.”
