At the Japanese Grand Prix, Marc Marquez was able to clinch his seventh MotoGP World Championship with a second-place finish.
Six years after winning his last MotoGP World Championship, Marc Marquez stated that he is 'at peace' after securing the 2025 MotoGP title.
A second-place finish at the Japanese Grand Prix was enough for Marquez to clinch his ninth Grand Prix World Championship, his seventh in MotoGP.
Marquez had a long journey back to the top in the MotoGP World Championship after suffering major injuries between his 2019 and 2025 titles.
The Spaniard had to deal with his broken arm, which took two years to fix, diplopia issues, and then an uncompetitive Honda, before getting a move to factory Ducati for the 2025 season.
"The meaning of this title is that I am at peace with myself," Marquez told TNT Sports after winning the MotoGP World Championship.
"My mentality from 2020, when it was super difficult and I had a lot of injuries, but I was fighting against many things. Especially, against the recovery that sometimes is not in your hands, but it was super difficult.
"Many people around me have helped me, because alone it would have been impossible. But now I am relaxed, I am at peace with myself, this is the best sentence to answer how I am now."
Marquez went on to discuss 'the most difficult challenge' of his MotoGP career, and the advice that he had from the people around him during his recovery.
"It has been the most difficult challenge of my career," he explained.
"When I came into MotoGP, straight away I was winning, I was riding well, and I was enjoying it. But then, with the injuries and those moments, from the glory, I went into the deepest moments of my career.
"With the injuries, I spent two years racing in half of the races, but I never gave up. I took very difficult decisions in the past, just from looking at myself. This was the advice from the people around me, to try to answer my question marks, and I decided my way, and followed my instincts.
"In the end, being a World Champion again is the best way to finish that circle."
