Marco Bezzecchi is 'confident' with the Aprilia but continues to 'make small mistakes'

Aprilia Racing's preseason was derailed after injury issues, but Marco Bezzecchi picked up the baton for the Italian manufacturer.

A lot of faith has been placed in Marco Bezzecchi after he became Aprilia's key rider for the 2025 preseason.

The Italian was meant to be a second rider to Jorge Martin during the Sepang and Buriram Test. However, after the reigning Champion got injured Bezzecchi stepped up for the Italian manufacturer.

"I've felt good on the Aprilia since the Barcelona test," Bezzecchi said after the Buriram Test.

"The change took time, and I'm still adjusting in some areas. But the bike immediately gave me good confidence in the front, that's the key to adapting quickly. Everything then becomes a little easier."

The Italian may have adapted to the Aprilia RS-GP after three years on a Ducati, but he knows that he has not perfected his craft with his new machine.

"I'm still struggling with new tyres and I'm making small mistakes" Bezzecchi stated. "The bike behaves differently with new tyres, it's more nervous. So the adjustment isn't complete yet."

After five days of testing ahead of the 2025 season opener in Thailand Bezzecchi is in a 'positive mood' ahead of his rookie year with Aprilia.

"It was a positive pre-season, especially considering what happened in Malaysia, with Jorge's injury, where we were all worried afterwards. I was nervous because it's my first time as a factory rider, so I didn't really know what to do.

"But I was given a lot of trust and the good atmosphere put me in a positive mood, that gave me extra confidence to do my best. It's a positive atmosphere. It's completely different to what I was used to.

"I have so many good people around me who work hard in the garage and at home. I'm very happy to be an Aprilia rider."
