After a difficult Friday and Saturday morning, Marco Bezzecchi improved during the MotoGP Sprint Race.
The Malaysian Grand Prix has been a difficult weekend for Aprilia as a whole, and even their star rider from the 2025 season, Marco Bezzecchi, has been struggling.
Bezzecchi came into the weekend off the back of two Sprint Race victories and a Grand Prix podium in the last two race weekends. However, the Italian was not able to secure a spot in Q2 on Friday and then failed to progress from Q1 on Saturday.
After starting from 14th place on the grid for the Sprint Race, things looked bleak for Bezzecchi and the Aprilia Racing squad. But he was able to salvage a decent result as he made his way to sixth place at the end of the Sprint Race around the Petronas Sepang International Circuit.
"Well, it was not our best one," Bezzecchi said to MotoGP.com after the Sprint Race in Malaysia.
"But we made many improvements, especially in the Sprint Race. So, at the end, I am almost satisfied. Of course, coming from Phillip Island and Mandalika, where we were pretty fast, here we have been struggling a bit more.
"But we are also understanding a lot of things that can help us in the future. So, the Sprint Race today was not too bad. I could recover many places. I enjoyed the battle. I made many overtakes, and to grab some points after starting from 14th is not too bad."
However, Bezzecchi lost his third place in the MotoGP World Championship after Francesco Bagnaia claimed victory in the Sprint Race at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
