Marquez goes under Moto2 pole record at Mugello test

Reigning 125cc World Champion Marc Marquez has finished two days of Moto2 testing at Mugello and managed to go almost a second faster than the existing pole position record of Andrea Iannone.

Completing more than 100 laps in the Italian track, the Repsol Honda rider set a fastest time of 1'54.8 which compares to Iannone's 1'55.6. Marquez took the track yesterday at ten in the morning completing 65 laps and then another 40 laps today allowed him to gather a total of more than 550 kilometres in two days, with the aim to improve his feeling with the bike for the race that will take place at the track in two weeks.

"We have been very busy these two days testing a lot of different things, tying to find a good set-up for the race we will have here in two weeks. We checked different options and my feelings on the bike were very good, after the great job my team did," said the youngster.
