MotoGP Aragon: Aluminium frame is 'first step for future', says Rossi

Marlboro Ducati's Valentino Rossi thinks the new aluminium chassis is the first step towards a new future for him and Ducati even though he will start tomorrow's Aragon MotoGP round from the pitlane after taking a seventh engine.

The Doctor has qualified in 13th place but his team took the step of using one engine that extra to the sixth allocation because an older one did not fit in the chassis and to start with two alumnium frame and two engines.

"We are on a good way, I feel better on the bike. For sure not fantastic but I have a small improvement so we have to continue like this because it is the first step for the future. This track is a bit different as the rear is more important and you don't use the front a lot like in other tracks so it's not the best track for understand," said Rossi, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.

"It is better to use two bikes and two engines for the last four races, a normal situation. We have to work, we have to develop but the result are not with us."
