MotoGP Aragon: Moto3 front row for Kent

Britain’s Danny Kent has secured a front-row start for tomorrow’s Moto3 race at the Aragon MotoGP rounf and is only a tenth behind pole man Alex Rins while John McPhee will start from the middle of row three.

Kent was lapping all on his own and managed a 1’58.434 compared to Rins’ 1’58.318 and it is the best qualifying performance from the Huqvarna man since the Sachsenring. He has Juanfran Guevara for company on his right while series leader Jack Miller is on row two with Alex Marquez and Enea Bastiannini.

"We have been very quick all weekend, and I'm feeling very comfortable with the bike. Coming into the qualifying session I had confidence in being able to secure a front row start, and so it proved to be possible. We face tomorrow's race in good shape and happy, because we are able to do more than just one fast lap. That is very important for the race. It will be a tight race and I think the group will be a large one -especially with this long straight. I'm very happy with how everything went today," said Kent.

McPhee was sitting pretty in fourth place after timing a run behind Marquez perfectly saw him drag himself up from the middle of the pack with a 1’58.743 but he slipped back four places as the top men upped the pace.

However the Scotsman, who signed with his Saxoprint-RTG team this morning for another year, is a fast starter and should make up a bag of places on the opening lap tomorrow.
