MotoGP Argentina: Honda pace ‘a big worry’ for Rossi

Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi has admitted that the Hondas of Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa are simply just too fast for him after the first day of MotoGP free practice in Argentina but he believes he can go much faster tomorrow.

The Doctor ended today some two seconds slower than Marquez and a second slower than Pedrosa but will take some consolation he was quicker than team-mate Jorge Lorenzo. Rossi will spend tomorrow’s free practice sessions working on tyre life.

“Is very difficult the work of the tyre. I think more or less everybody have the same type of problem because the condition of the track is not perfect, sure it is a new track, it is very dirt and also today it was very cold so the low temperature doesn’t help the tyre,” said Rossi, speaking in Argentina.

“In the afternoon, it coming a lot better, we can go faster. We work very much on the balance, we find something good, something bad so for tomorrow we have to put everything together and I think we can go much faster. Anyway, we have to work on the life of the rear tyre very much.

“The Hondas are too fast. The big worry is that, especially Marquez but also Pedrosa are too fast for us.”
