Reigning MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez and his team-mate Dani Pedrosa both managed to marmalise a rear Bridgestone tyre in three laps during today’s opening MotoGP free practice session in Argentina.
The pair were both on the medium compound and reported that they were unable to go any faster after their third lap but stayed out on the same tyre to further familiarise themselves with the track.
“The feeling is quite good and the track seems nice, but the grip level was pretty low. The tyre life was very, very short and after just three laps it was completely destroyed - especially in the beginning. I am confident we will improve this afternoon when the track conditions are better,” said Marquez.
