Factory Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo would take away Marco Simoncelli's racing licence for several meetings if he was in charge of the safety commission, the Spaniard said today after their coming together on the first lap of the Assen MotoGP race.
Speaking straight after the race, the clearly-angry reigning world champion believes Simoncelli has learned nothing from his collision with Dani Pedrosa and is still reckless on the track and doesn't see the risks involved with cold Bridgestone tyres.
"I don't think he wanted to make me crash but it is obvious he doesn't learn from his experiences, his crashes, his polemics, he needs to learn. If I were in the safety commission I'd take away his licence for several races, but I'm just a rider and I don't have a lot of power to make those decisions. He rides like he is on a PlayStation." said Lorenzo.
"He is still as reckless as always and the good thing is that I didn't get injured, that I'm fine and that I managed to score a few points. But I honestly think that if he doesn't change his attitude he will injure more riders in the future. I think he is not very conscious about the risks in this class with these tyres."
