Update: Marquez has Tweeted from hospital: “It has only been the fright! All is ok!”
Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez has been taken to Leoben Hospital to have his left shoulder checked out following a big crash in the third MotoGP free practice session at the Red Bull Ring today.
Marquez ran into turn three very hot and had to grab his front brake hard twice in order to avoid touring team-mate Dani Pedrosa. He was spat off the RC213V and landed on his shoulder before being helped away from the track by marshals.
The Spaniard returned to his pit garage before attending the medical centre. A decision was taken for him to undergo scans and checks at the local hospital.
