Germany's Sandro Cortese has taken his first ever MotoGP 125cc race win this morning at Brno, after a race-long battle with Johan Zarco saw the pair run into each other on the entry to the last corner and Zarco having to knock the throttle off.
The pair were togther for almost all of the race as series leader Nico Terol went out with an engine failure at half distance but by the time the chequered flag appeared, they had pulled an 11-second lead over Alberto Moncayo in third.
Britain's Harry Stafford was the best of the British riders right until the last lap but he was passed by Danny Webb for 12th place after Webb had made an error and dropped down to the order to 14th. The Kent man got the hammer down and re-passed Stafford and Marcel Schrotter to net more useful points. It is the first time Stafford has scored World Championsip points in his short career.
Taylor Mackenzie finished in 21st and Danny Kent, who has been riding team-mate Jonas Folger's full factory Aprilia RSA this weekend, went out with a mechanical failure in the opening laps.
