MotoGP Brno: Lorenzo unveils new Ducati aero package

Jorge Lorenzo has unveiled a new Ducati aero package during the second MotoGP free practice at Brno this afternoon.

The former champion waited until the end of the session to bring out the fairing and a pit exit means it is now homologated. He only did five laps with it and ended up in 15th place, so had better hope it doesn’t rain tomorrow morning.

The fairing had been tested by Michele Pirro and Danilo Petrucci at Mugello, so it is far from an untried system. Purists will be settings their keyboards on fire moaning about how ugly it is.

“We tried the all-new fairing in Qatar and was more negative than positive so that’s why we decided to put it away. Instead this one, I feel, just in five laps, that we have a better potential with this new fairing - at least for me - than we have with the standard,” said Lorenzo.

“Tomorrow I would like to make more kilometres, to try to understand which setting will be the right one, because we didn’t change the setting and for sure this new fairing asks for some modifications to try to gain especially more rear grip, because you have more front grip.”
