MotoGP Brno: Pinched nerve causing numb arm for Spies

Factory Yamaha's Ben Spies is having to ride with a little numbness in his left arm that is being caused a pinched nerve in his neck but it hasn't stopped the Texan setting some fast laps in the dry at the Czech MotoGP round this weekend.

Spies doesn't know where or when he did the damage but suspects it happened in a crash earlier in the year. It came on as he was simply sitting at a table and he has lost a little strength under braking. Physio at the Clinica Mobile is doing its job, he says, and he hopes to be fully fit in the morning.

"My arm went a little bit numb and I haven't got too much strength right now. I'm not able to ride the bike at 100 per cent right now and noe able to put a bunch of laps together but we've been doing a lot of physio with the Clinica guys and they're doing a great job. Hopefully it'll be good in time for the race," said the Texan.

"It's really strange, I was just sitting at a table. I don't know if it stems from a crash earlier in the season, Laguna maybe, but it doesn't feel too bad. The bike is good and we're really just doing the best we can."
