MotoGP Brno test: 220mph is 'close to the limit,' says Rossi

Even though Marlboro Ducati's Valentino Rossi spent yesterday lapping the Brno MotoGP circuit on his 2011 GP11.1 still looking for ways to improve the front end after his sixth place on Sunday, he had time to think about possibles for the 1000cc GP12 including top speeds.

Both Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner have said their bikes will be capable of 350kph, which is the business end of 220mph, and Rossi concurs but added he thinks it is close to the limit of how fast bikes should or could go.

"Yes, it is possible and I think it is fucking fast. When I try the bike at Mugello, I arrive at the end of the straight and I say 'Ha'. You know, it is very fast but it is ok. Maybe we are close to the limit at 350 but is doesn't change very much. It is ok," said The Doctor, speaking to bikesportnews.com

"Our engine is quite fast but the problem that we have is the rest. We have to fix the rest. It will be hard for sure because already the Honda and Yamaha 800 are very fast but we will try. For me the surprise is the Yamaha because it is very fast with Lorenzo and Spies from the first exit.

"When the bike has arrived it is ready and they are not so far from the Honda. It looks like they are closer than with the 800 in this track. I already know that Honda and Yamaha are competitive and now we have to arrive."
