MotoGP Brno: 'We don't want to make the Ducati like a Yamaha' - Rossi

Marlboro Ducati's Valentino Rossi doesn't want to make his GP11.1 into a copy of the Yamaha YZR-M1 on which he had so much MotoGP success as it would defeat two targets both he and the factory have set over the coming season and a half.

Rossi is against making a Deltabox-copy frame and slotting in either the 800 or 1000cc motor because they want to make what they have work for him and then make it work for all the satellite and customer Ducati riders in the MotoGP paddock.

"We don't want to make the Ducati like the Yamaha. We want to fix the problem of this bike and the other riders have a big problem this year and now the gap is bigger. So the first target is to win races and a championship but also the second target is to make a bike that is suitable for all the riders, one that is competitive," said The Doctor.

"We work in this way more than make the Ducati like the Yamaha. When I talked about changing riding style before I mean lines but this bike I have to ride in a different way, which I do, but if you don't have the feeling on the front it all become very difficult and not like changing from a 250 to a 500.

"I cannot push at 100 per cent because I don't feel the front. My comment is the same as all the other Ducati riders - is like everybody want the same for improve the performance."
