Repsol Honda's Casey Stoner has said next year's 1000cc RCV212V has a sweet engine with power everywhere and is really nice to ride. The Aussie tested alone at Jerez straight after the Le Mans MotoGP round and came away more than impressed.
Speaking today at the Calatan round press conference, Stoner said: "We are very positive about the test but it's a bike for next year and not something I want to be thinking about now. We still have a long way to go this year with the 800 and I only want to focus on the 1000 at the end of the season.
"There are a few places where we know we need to improve but in general we have made a lot of the changes already. The weak points we have on the 800 we have have improved already on the thousand so hopefully when we test again, we will see small improvements again.
"The engine is so nice and sweet to use. The 800 is more aggressive but with the thousand there's power all through the range, even in fifth it's still spinning, it's really nice to ride. It's so nice to have power in all areas and use less gears."
