Update: Edwards has, unsurprisingly, failed a circuit medical and will not be allowed on track. He reportedly said he wasn't allowed to race because his 'name isn't Valentino Rossi'...
Monster Yamaha's Colin Edwards will try to start today's Barcelona MotoGP race just 24 hours after having surgery on his broken collarbone so he doesn't break his run of consecutive starts.
The Texas Tornado is currently on 141 starts and wants it to continue. It is believed his plan is to do one lap, complete with a plate and seven screws in his shoulder, and then pull in and go to watch the rest of television. Currently, Edwards is the only rider to have started all the 800cc-era races.
