Update: Marquez has now been re-instated following an appeal.
Marc Marquez has been handed a one-minute time penalty after his Moto2 collision with Pol Espargaro which saw the Pons Kalex rider end up in the kitty litter during today's race in Catalunya.
Marquez was on a yellow card following a previous altercation with Tom Luthi and today's crash, which most saw as a racing incident, was enough for race directin who, after speaking to both riders and giving it some thought, gave him a one minute time penalty. He slips down to 23rd.
An appeal has apparently been lodged.
