Repsol Honda's Casey Stoner has continued to top the MotoGP timesheets at Barcelona this afternoon and maintained his half-second gap to Marco Simoncelli while Andrea Dovizioso found some pace to make it a Honda clean sweep at the top.
A rain shower followed the 125cc session but as the track dried, Stoner came out of his garage to go fastest with his first flying lap and was only headed by Gresini Honda's Simnoncelli before reclaiming top spot with a 1'42.940 which compares to the big haired Italian's 1'43.468 while Dovizioso was another tenth in arrears.
Jorge Lorenzo is top Yamaha in fourth place after leaving his first track entry until the surface was about dry, while team-mate Ben Spies did 14 laps but his last two were the ones that counted, hauling himself into fifth but he is nearly two seconds slower than Stoner.
Marlboro Ducati's Valentino Rossi is the leading Bologna bike in sixth with Cal Crutchlow in seventh on the satellite Monster Yamaha. Team-mate Colin Edwards has crashed out and broken his right collarbone.
Hiro Aoyama is eighth fastest ahead of Nicky Hayden with Alvaro Bautista rounding out the top ten.
