Britain’s Sam Lowes has taken third place in this afternoon’s second Moto2 free practice session at the Catalunya MotoGP round after picking himself up from an early crash.
The Speed Up rider lost the front and ran back to his machine but he had to make his way back to the pits to pick up his second bike. He brushed off the spill and set a 1’47.908 lap with his penultimate circuit.
Esteve Rabat was by far the fastest with a 1’46.955 with Jonas Folger second but three-quarters of a second in arrears. Maverick Vinales was 0.088s behind Lowes with Sandro Corteste in fifth.
Gino Rea finished in 26th but only 1.8s off the pace.
