MotoGP Estoril test: Fast pace further angers Simoncelli

Gresini Honda's Maroc Simoncelli has made himself even more cross by managing to set the fastest time in MotoGP testing at Estoril yesterday which rubbed salt into the 'I fell off on Sunday's first lap' wound.

The hirsute Italian said that it was important to get back on the bike after his turn-four, cold-tyre highside instead of going home to brood on what could have been - for the second race in succession.

“To get back on the bike and complete such a positive test, setting the fastest time, after the disappointment of yesterday actually makes me even more angry. What can I say other than it was important and it would have been much worse to go straight home – at least this way I can do so feeling a little more happy," said Simoncelli.

"We did a good job today working on the forks and trying the new 2012 version Bridgestone tyres as well as a few other things. It was a positive day and now I can go home happy and looking forward to the next race at Le Mans, where I want to properly get over the disappointment of yesterday.”
